  • See George’s infamous John Deere lawn mower.
  • Take a photo on the giant rocking chair.

From his lawnmower and his rhinestone-covered Nudie suits to his multiple awards, the George Jones Museum offers an intimate approach to the life of George “The Possum” Jones. With incredible attention to detail, the museum houses an expansive array of artifacts and memorabilia important to telling the story of the man many consider the greatest country singer of all time.

George Jones had more country songs on the Billboard chart and more Top 40 songs than any country artist in history. Although his influence expands over multiple genres, it’s most especially heard through the work of some of today’s most notable country artists, such as Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Dierks Bentley. The museum gives visitors insight into where George’s story began, and how the country music industry continues to tell it through music.

After the museum experience, be sure to explore the rest of the recently refurbished four-story building. With live music, Smokehouse BBQ restaurant, coffee shop, and gift shop on the first floor to an incredible rooftop bar. The George Jones and The George Jones Museum are a must-see on your Nashville bucket list!
